About Polemiq

Polemiq is a real-time, anonymous 1v1 debate arena. Anyone can create a debate room and share it via a unique link. Two participants — called Alpha and Omega — take turns presenting arguments in a structured, turn-based format while spectators watch live and vote. The platform is designed to evaluate how well each side argues, not whether that side's underlying idea is ultimately true.

How debates work

Each debate runs for a fixed number of rounds (up to 6 turns per side). Participants claim their side by clicking into the arena — the first person to join becomes Alpha, the second becomes Omega. A 30-minute lock ensures fair turn-taking: only the active side may submit an argument at any given time.

Voting

Spectators can upvote or downvote the logical quality of each argument. Votes are anonymous and limited to one per message per visitor, keeping the scoring honest.

AI judging

After a debate concludes, an LLM evaluates the arguments and produces a scored verdict — including logic score, factuality score, and a written summary. The winner is declared as Alpha, Omega, or Draw based on which side argued more clearly, rationally, and persuasively.

That means a side can defend an objectively weaker or less popular idea and still win if its case is presented with stronger reasoning, better structure, and fewer logical errors. Polemiq is not trying to settle ultimate truth; it is trying to judge which side argued better within the debate.
